SITB Instructor Daniel Kieffer, assisted by Dr. Gino Ferri hand-crafted a beautiful and functional ash Dogsled with the assistance of several enthusiastic Saugeen FN students during an interactive and motivating three day workshop. At 3pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 Brady Roote, assisted by Jared Cameron, led the smudge ceremony for the birthing of the Dogsled. Miigwetch to the Creator for His guidance, granting us patience and the gift of artistry.

Staffing from Survival in the Bush, Inc., directed by Dr. Gino Ferri, designed and built an authentic and fully operational "Wigwam Village" that was specifically made operational for the Town of Penetanguishene's festival to commemorate the 400 years since Champlain's landing in Ontario. Survival in the Bush, Inc. staffing were in period buckskin clothing, acting as interpreters, demonstrating primitive living skills, and representing the early coureur de bois fur traders. Sarah Klages, one of our steadfast and environmentally conscious Instructors, lost her battle with cancer. Sarah passed away peacefully on Monday February 2, 2015. Our Survival in the Bush, Inc., family mourns the loss of beloved Sarah. She will always be appreciated for her beautiful presence, generous nature, and infinite compassion. Sarah is survived by her loving husband Joe; her newborn baby Thomas; her hardworking and devoted parents, Mike and Wendy Reid; and her altruistic and gentle sister, Dr. Heather Reid. Sarah and her Dad, Mike, gave to us a special poem that will be forever...

Over 50 students will be participating in the weekend course designed to provide them first hand experience in group leadership and managing the 5 priorities of survival in a wilderness setting.

• Due to increased demand, Survival in the Bush Inc. courses are now conducted privately.
• Contact Survival in the Bush Inc. to book your private course program(s).
• When booking the services of Survival in the Bush Inc., funds are due upon confirmation of booking.
• If withdrawing with less than 60 days notice prior to course commencement, there is no refund.
• If withdrawing with 61 days or greater before your course start date, a 50% cancellation fee is automatically deducted from the full booking cost.
• A private 5 hour course fee, per person, per program, is $268.88 + applicable taxes + mandatory texts/equipment.
• Survival in the Bush Inc. reserves the right to refuse a student’s participation in any course should safety become a factor.
• All courses are subject to applicable sales tax.
• Note: Clients are responsible for all transportation, gear, park fees, and meals while on course.
